Timeline

3 Weeks

Superblue is a company that curates large-scale immersive experiences. Their mission is to “support the world’s most innovative artists to bring you powerful experiences that are meant to be shared.” The company came to Left Field Labs to design a companion app for their in-person experiences.

The
Problem

Design an app allowing users to explore and purchase custom mobile experiences created by Superblue’s resident artists.

The Process

App MVP Requirements

After some brief initial brainstorming and workshopping, we decided on the basic app functionality. The MVP app would need to have an account creation sequence, an engaging homepage navigation structure, a checkout feature to pay for premium content, and a profile/settings page. The app would also link out to the Superblue.com mobile webpage to allow users to purchase tickets to in-person events, but this was not a high priority, as their only in person location was in Miami, FL.

User Journeys

Three rough user personas were established, and those were used to create some initial user journeys to get a sense of what users would be feeling during their app experience, and where the pain points would lie.

User Flows

User flows were created for:

  • Create Account/Login

  • Account/Settings

  • Permissions (mic, camera, photos)

  • Onboarding

  • Artist experience navigation

  • Artist experience purchase

Wireflows

Login Flow

A flow for the user opening the app and creating an account.

Artist Experience Flow

A flow for the user clicking into an artist experience. (Note: Superblue did not have any examples yet of what their artist experiences would actually be, so our role in the UX process was largely just to allow users to navigate to the experience, allow any relevant permissions, pay for premium content, and take a survey after their experience.)
